This morning, banks kept obtaining old N500 and N1,000 bills from clients.
The Central Bank of Nigeria has previously claimed that it had not instructed banks to collect old N5,000 and N1,000 notes from clients.
The GTB, First Bank, Fidelity Bank, and Sterling Bank are among the banks that are gathering the old notes.
In addition, the CBN Cash Return Portal instructed persons having old N500 and old N1,000 notes below N500,000 to go to their bank to make the deposit, which is contradictory to the CBN announcement.
