Serie A announced on Tuesday that Moise Kean has been given a two-game suspension after getting dismissed after only 40 seconds of play in Juventus’ Saturday loss at Roma.
At the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday, the striker Kean lost his cool after a confrontation with the game-winning Gianluca Mancini. Kean had replaced Juan Cuadrado just before the end of the game.
To the pleasure of the home crowd, he kicked the Italy defender to the ground before making his way to the tunnel.
The 23-year-old has scored five goals in this Serie A season, but he has also been fined 10,000 euros and will miss Juventus’ match at bitter rivals Inter Milan later this month.
With Sunday’s loss, Juve is currently seventh in Italy’s premier division, 12 points behind Roma and the spots in the Champions League.
Kean’s swift dismissal from the game was not the quickest in Serie A history; that distinction belongs to Giulio Migliaccio, who was sent after only 32 seconds of Atalanta’s victory over Palermo in 2015.
