An orderly room trial will be held for the six police officers who were seen in a popular video thrashing a guy in Imo with a machete.
On Tuesday, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the force’s public relations officer, tweeted about this, attaching a photo of the policemen and a video clip of the incident that appeared to show that only one individual had been assaulted by the cops.
However, the video showed that the officers assaulted two unnamed individuals, one wearing orange shorts and the other wearing light green shorts.
He claimed that the Imo State Command had begun the orderly room trial of six of the officers who were caught attacking two suspects in Owerri as he revealed the names of the officers.
The police officers who were recently seen on camera beating and flogging a man in Imo State have started their orderly room trials, according to the Imo State Police Command.
Inspector Amadi Sunday (the team leader) is one of the men, along with Inspector Amajuoji Charlse, Sgt. Noachian Chinese, Sgt. Onwuka Emmanuel, Cpl. Nzewuodo Goodness, and Pc. Emmanuel Chmezie.
Recall that a 45-second video clip showed five officers striking the two individuals in a public area as a sixth officer pulled a machete from a parked SUV that was presumably a police operation vehicle.
The incident looked to have taken place in Owerri, the capital of Imo State, according to the background remarks, which were reportedly made by individuals who were secretly recording the assault.
