The Labour Party (LP) and Peter Obi, who is running for president, have not been given access to the documents they are demanding, according to INEC.

Obi and LP declined to pay the N1.5 million demanded to access the requested records, according to INEC’s attorney, Abubakar Mahmoud, who was present at the presidential election petitions court on May 17.

Levy Uzoukwu, a lawyer for the party and its candidate, accused the commission of withholding crucial records that they had asked for in order to use them as evidence in the lawsuit contesting the results of the presidential election.

The counsel for INEC responded to the claim by saying, “We agreed to meet on May 15 and 16. However, I learned on May 15 that the Labour Party legal team had not shown up at the location for the document check.

In Rivers, the LP was handed some election documents, but they persisted on obtaining all the necessary paperwork.
