Abba Yusuf, the governor of Kano State, has directed the state’s petroleum marketers to immediately return to the original gas pump price.
The governor emphasized that the pump price increase is “unjustified and must be stopped right away” in a statement released by his press secretary on Thursday, June 1.
He said, “The marketers should exercise some restraint and promptly reopen all filling stations with available products in stock to sell at the prior pricing. This would lessen the needless pain on the state’s inhabitants.
As a worried governor, I am discouraged to see our beloved citizens of Kano suffering due to an unwarranted fuel price increase, and the issue needs to be stopped immediately.
