Governor Abba Kabir-Yusuf’s order to have the government house roundabout monument demolished was given for a reason, according to Kano State Government Secretary Baffa Bichi.
On Tuesday, June 13, the roundabout that was constructed by the previous administration of former Governor Abdulahi Ganduje to celebrate Kano’s Golden Jubilee was destroyed.
The roundabout is blocking drivers’ views, and secondly, if you use a drone camera, you will see that the roundabout has a massive design of a cross on top of it, the SSG stated in a statement to Freedom Radio Kano.
Furthermore, all Kano natives—more than 9.99 percent of them—are Muslims. Therefore, it is prohibited to build something with a prominent cross inscription on it. It contradicts Islamic principles.
According to our clerics, whenever our beloved Prophet Muhammad noticed anything—no matter how small—with the cross symbol on it, he would make sure that it was destroyed.
