Tunji Wusu –
Ndem Udoudo Ndem, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Akwa Ibom State, has praised Godswill Akpabio’s election as the Senate President and Chairman of the 10th National Assembly and said that he will promote peace and togetherness in the nation.
Senator Akpabio’s leadership of the National Assembly “will favor Nigerians,” Ndem, a member of the medical staff of the disbanded Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Committee, told reporters in Abuja.
In his words, Nigeria will “witness a new vista of hope” under Akpabio’s leadership because the National Assembly would “have a very robust engagement and would carry out legislative business in the interest of Nigerians and Nigeria.”
He emphasized that with Akpabio as Senate President, the upper chamber of the nation’s legislative body would undoubtedly experience peace and unity because the new Senate President was a bridge builder and a man of great experience who served as a minority leader in the eighth Senate as well as a two-term governor of Akwa Ibom State.
He remarked, “It is my firm belief that he will surely hold the Senate together in unity and function effectively for the benefit of Nigerians” as a lawyer, two-term governor, and minority leader in the eighth Senate.
Ndem praised the senators for choosing Akpabio and expressed confidence in his ability to strengthen ties with President Bola Tinubu’s administration and forward the renewed hope agenda of the current administration for the benefit of all Nigerians.
He urged people running against him for office to align themselves with Senator Godswill Akpabio.
“Nigeria as a country and its citizens at this critical time of its national life are in need of tried, tested, and proven leaders with experience who would man critical sectors at all levels of government,” he said.
Akpabio’s expertise as a two-term governor, senator, and minister was unmatched, according to Ndem.
