Tunji Wusu –

Tobi Amusan, a well-known athlete from Nigeria, has responded to her loss in the 100-meter hurdles event at the World Athletics Championships on Thursday night in Budapest, Hungary.

She expressed her regret to all of her worldwide fans for disappointing them with her lackluster performance and promised to bounce back even stronger.

Amusan, who finished second to Danielle Williams of Jamaica in the 100-meter hurdles world championship, acknowledged that it was challenging for her to qualify for the final.

Amusan acknowledged that, despite everything she had experienced over the previous several weeks, it had been “a journey” to reach the final in a post-race interview with journalists.

“I just want to express my sincere gratitude to everyone who has been praying for me and standing by me throughout my ups and downs. God bless you all, and I apologize if I have ever let you down. However, we will come back stronger.

No one wants to lose, she said, but given all she had been through in the previous few months, she was grateful to have survived.

Jasmine Camacho-Quinn of Puerto Rico, the reigning Olympic champion, finished second in 12.44 seconds, while 30-year-old Williams took first place in Beijing in 2015. American Kendra Harrison finished third in 12.46 seconds.

Amusan, who placed sixth, and 2019 winner Nia Ali, who placed last, were never in contention.
