Tunji Wusu –
Igwe Innocent Obodoakor, the traditional chief of Agulu, Anaocha Local Government Area in Anambra State, has pleaded with Nigerians to have patience with President Bola Tinubu.
Peter Obi, a former governor of Anambra state and a presidential contender for the Labour Party, is ruled by Igwe Obodoakor.
He added that the president inherited a dysfunctional economy as he opened the 2023 New Yam Festival in his community.
He assured locals and guests that he had faith in the former governor of Lagos state to handle the nation’s present problems.
The monarch pointed out that the president took office as the nation was already experiencing an economic crisis.
He claimed that all the president needed were prayers and support from all quarters, regardless of political, tribal, ethnic, or religious ties, to turn the situation around.
“Nigerians should be patient with the President,” the monarch urged. The President took office at a time when the country was already in a financial crisis.
“There’s no doubt about it. So we must follow him gradually in order for him to properly fix the country for the benefit of all.
The monarch, on the other hand, bemoaned the President’s recent Ministerial appointments.
“It is unfortunate that the recent ministerial appointments did not favor the Igbo as one of the major tribes that have contributed significantly to the development of Nigeria,” he says.
“For the sake of peace, unity, fairness, and justice, the president should urgently look into it and make changes by appointing more Igbo to his cabinet.”
