THE SPORTS MINISTER WISHES TO SEE MORE WOMEN IN FOOTBALL ADMINISTRATION.

Senator John Owan Enoh, Nigeria’s minister of sports development, has advocated for more representation of women at the top level of football administration, stating that the growth of the women’s game necessitates more representation of women at the top level of football administration and deliberation.

On Sunday, he aired his case at the 2023 Annual General Assembly of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) in Uyo.

Enoh asked individuals in charge of football administration in Nigeria to lead with professionalism and patriotism for the sake of the game in the country.

“I am passionately advocating for increased representation of women in our football administration on behalf of Nigerian football.” The Nigerian Senior Women’s National Team (Super Falcons) finished among the top ten countries at the recent FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia/New Zealand. This demonstrates how far our women’s football has progressed.”

“It lends credence to the need for more female representation in annual general meetings of this type, for greater inclusion and diversity,” Senator Enoh added.

He urged the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) leadership to engage in constructive discussions that will benefit the country’s football growth.

Enoh expressed his excitement at attending the meeting, his first since being appointed minister of sports development, and advocated for stronger collaboration to boost advancement.
