155 illegal migrants from Nigeria who were stuck throughout Libya were deported by the International Organization for Migration and the Federal Government.
This information can be found in a statement the IOM released on Wednesday in Lagos.
On board an Al Buraq Air Boeing 737-800 with the registration number 5A-DMG, the returnees arrived at the Cargo Wing of Murtala Muhammad International Airport in Lagos late on Tuesday night. Of the 155 returnees that arrived, 125 were female, 22 were male, and eight were infants.
IOM said that representatives from the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, National Commission for Refugees, Migrants, and Internally Displaced Persons, Port Health Service, and National Emergency Management Agency were waiting for the returnees at the airport.
