In 2024, N15.961 billion would be spent on domestic and foreign travel by President Bola Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, and their assistants in the Presidential Villa.
The National Assembly is now debating the 2024 Appropriations Bill, which includes the figure. According to the breakdown of the amount, President Tinubu planned to spend N7. 630 billion on travel expenses, the most of which would go toward overseas travel.
He would spend N638.535 million on domestic travel and N6.992 billion on overseas travel if the federal assembly gave its approval. Vice President Shettima would also incur travel expenses of N1.847 billion, both domestically and abroad.
The proposed budget states that he will spend N1.229 billion on international travel and N638.199 million on domestic travel. For local and foreign travel, Villa Headquarters received an additional N6.484 billion.
