Babatunji Wusu –

After leaving her kids at an Enugu State police station, a mother of three killed herself.

As of the time of publication, the identity of the woman remained unknown. She entered the Ogui Road police station carrying the kids, gave them over to the guards, undressed, and dashed beneath the speeding car, whereupon she was crushed to death.

According to reports, the three youngsters are two, four, and six years old. It was rumored that her husband had abandoned the wife and kids when he ran away from home many months prior due to increasing difficulty.

The oldest child, when questioned about their father, just replied that he was gone. She was unable to provide any other details regarding their town, family, or residential address.

When Nkechinyere Mbah, the governor of Enugu State, heard about the occurrence, she hurried to the police station and was informed that her spouse might have been depressed.

Mbah, moved by the news, promised to raise the kids and provide them with education from daycare center to university.

She declared that her Custos Care Foundation would be taking up the children’s sponsorship. Mbah also ordered the kids to be taken from the station and placed in a home right away, under the supervision of the state government.

She advised those who are depressed to get counseling and refrain from making snap judgments. Additionally, she encouraged Ngozi Enih, the Commissioner of the Ministry of Children, Gender, and Social Development, to step up counseling and sensitization, particularly for the depressed.
