The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has sent no less than 2,172 corps members to Bauchi State for the 2024 Batch ‘A’ stream orientation exercise.

Mrs Rifkatu Yakubu, the state’s NYSC Coordinator, stated this during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Bauchi on Tuesday.

According to her, prospective corps members would be able to register at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Wailo, Ganjuwa Local Government Area, beginning April 17 and ending at midnight on April 21.

She explained that the prospective corps members’ swearing-in ceremony will be held on April 23, and the orientation exercise would conclude on May 7.

She further stated that each potential corps member would be admitted into the camp only after they had been properly certified as real graduates.

The organizer stated that a discreet screening of corps members would be done as part of security measures to prevent intrusion or impersonation.

“Registration dates have been notified to corps members, who are instructed to rigorously follow all camp rules and regulations.

“Defaulters will be sanctioned in accordance with the scheme’s extant rules,” Yakubu said in a statement.

The state Coordinator also repeated that the scheme discouraged late-night travel and advised prospective corps members to avoid it for their own safety.

She tasked them with being punctual and diligent, as well as adhering to the camp’s appropriate clothing regulations, and warned them that breaking the rules would result in disciplinary action. (NAN)
