  • Simplified Redeployment Process for Married Corps Members
  • NYSC Enforces New Redeployment Policy Nationwide
  • Spouse Name Adoption No Longer Mandatory for Relocation

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has removed the name change requirement for married female corps members seeking redeployment.

This update, effective immediately, was communicated through a circular signed by the Director of Corps Mobilisation, Abubakar Mohammed, and addressed to state and FCT coordinators. The directive, dated November 25, 2024, announced the revision of conditions for concessional deployment or relocation of married corps members.

According to the circular, married female corps members no longer need to adopt their spouse’s surname to qualify for redeployment approval. However, all other existing requirements remain unchanged.

NYSC directed state and FCT coordinators to enforce the updated guidelines, while area office directors were tasked with monitoring compliance.
