President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ruled out investigating Nigeria’s security chiefs, expressing full confidence in their commitment and contributions to national security.
During a media chat on Monday, Tinubu dismissed calls for a probe, emphasizing the need to respect the institution. “I’m not probing any service chief. You cannot undermine the institution over the threat of a probe,” he stated, highlighting the importance of investing in advanced technology and weaponry to combat insecurity effectively.
He acknowledged the tough conditions under which the security forces operate and commended their efforts. “They work in challenging environments across a vast country with extensive forests and unoccupied spaces. They deserve credit for their dedication,” Tinubu said.
The President also noted improvements in travel safety, citing it as evidence of progress in the nation’s security framework. He reaffirmed his pride in the work being done and reiterated that a probe is unnecessary.
