Warri Wolves have sealed a triumphant return to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) after topping Group B of the Nigeria National League (NNL) playoffs with a 2–1 win over Crown FC.
The hard-fought victory not only confirmed their promotion but also marked a major comeback for the Seasiders, who had been absent from the topflight for four years.
Reacting to the win, Warri Wolves head coach, Napoleon Aluma, expressed pride in his squad’s performance and mental strength.
“I had so much confidence in my team. Despite the error from my goalkeeper, who has been one of the best throughout the regular season, we stayed focused and got the win,” Aluma said.
He gave special recognition to goalkeeper Joke Efevwerha, applauding his calmness and recovery after a rare mistake during the match.
Warri Wolves will now lock horns with Group A leaders, Wikki Tourists, in the battle for the overall 2024–25 NNL championship title.
The final is expected to be a thrilling contest between two clubs determined to finish the season on a high.
