…€80m transfer structured with sell-on clause, no resale to Italian clubs for two years
…Fabrizio Romano confirms verbal agreement between both parties
Turkish football giants Galatasaray are on the verge of finalising a high-profile transfer deal for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, with details of the agreement now emerging.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed that negotiations between Galatasaray and Napoli, which have spanned several weeks, have yielded a verbal agreement. Napoli had stood firm on securing Osimhen’s full release clause before any move.
Romano shared on X that the proposed deal is structured around a staged payment plan and specific contractual clauses. Galatasaray are expected to pay €40 million upfront, followed by €35 million after one year. An additional €5 million will be triggered by performance-based add-ons, primarily tied to goal targets.
Importantly, the agreement includes a 10% sell-on clause—applicable only to profits made on a future sale of the player—as well as a restriction that prohibits any resale to Italian clubs for the next two years, likely to prevent direct league competition.
The potential transfer marks a major acquisition for Galatasaray and signals Napoli’s readiness to part ways with Osimhen under strict financial conditions.
Should the move be completed, Osimhen would join the growing list of high-profile African players reshaping the landscape of European football outside the traditional top-five leagues.
