The Ondo State Police Command has successfully dismantled a notorious five-member armed robbery syndicate responsible for a series of coordinated attacks spanning several northern states. The gang was apprehended following a violent invasion of Dollar Boys Global Investment in Akure, where they overpowered security personnel and fled with a white DAF truck and other valuables.
An intensive intelligence-led investigation tracked the stolen truck from Akure to various criminal hideouts across Jigawa, Kano, and Sokoto states, resulting in the arrest of all five suspects and the recovery of the vehicle. Police investigations revealed sophisticated methods used by the syndicate, including forgery of vehicle documents to mask stolen trucks’ true identities before resale.
DSP Olayinka Ayanlade, the Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer, emphasized this operation as a testament to the Nigeria Police Force’s dedication to people-centered and intelligence-driven policing. She reassured Ondo residents that all criminals, regardless of where they flee, will be relentlessly pursued and brought to justice.
This breakthrough underscores the proactive stance of law enforcement in tackling cross-regional armed robbery syndicates and protecting public security in Ondo State and beyond
