Minister of Youth Development Ayodele Olawande has expressed optimism that ongoing reforms under President Bola Tinubu will soon make Nigeria an appealing destination for citizens living overseas to return. Speaking in Akure, Ondo State, during the Deji of Akure’s 10th coronation anniversary, the minister highlighted the administration’s commitment to building a stable and prosperous Nigeria.
Olawande emphasized that the Tinubu government is laying a solid foundation for the future—one that will inspire pride and encourage diaspora professionals to come home. “Everything the president is doing now is for the future,” he stated, assuring that Nigeria will soon become a preferred place to live over staying abroad.
Addressing the historical disconnect between Nigerian youths and governance, Olawande stressed that this administration is actively reversing the trend by prioritizing youth inclusion and empowerment. He outlined various initiatives targeting vocational training, entrepreneurship, and the creative industries, designed to equip young Nigerians with valuable skills and opportunities.
The minister further encouraged young people to leverage these programs, underlining the government’s dedication to youth engagement across diverse sectors including sports, agriculture, and entertainment. Concluding, he acknowledged past challenges borne of prolonged neglect but affirmed that new structures are now being implemented to foster meaningful change.
