…Ex-goalkeeper confident of Nigeria’s comeback at CHAN 2024
…Team eyes redemption against Sudan in next group tie

Former Super Eagles goalkeeper and ex-international, Alloy Agu, has expressed confidence in the home-based Super Eagles following their slim 1-0 loss to Senegal in their opening match at the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN).

The defending champions, Senegal, clinched victory through a late strike from Christian Kobi in the 75th minute, leaving Nigeria’s team with all to play for in the remaining group fixtures.

Despite the setback, Agu remains optimistic that the team can turn things around in their next outing.

“This is just the first game,” Agu said. “They have the second group game to make amends and bounce back to winning ways.”

The Super Eagles are now focused on their second Group D clash against Sudan, scheduled to take place next Tuesday at the Amman Stadium in Zanzibar.

Nigeria will need a convincing performance to stay in contention for the knockout stages of the continental tournament designed exclusively for players plying their trade in domestic leagues.
