Atalanta will impose heavy sanctions on Nigeria international Ademola Lookman after he went absent without leave in a bid to force a move to Inter Milan.

The winger, who is reportedly keen to join the Serie A giants this summer, skipped several training sessions before leaving Italy entirely. According to Football Italia, the Bergamo-based club has initiated legal action and prepared a hefty fine over what it describes as “completely unacceptable” behaviour.

Inter Milan, whose initial bid for the 26-year-old was rejected last week, are expected to return with an improved offer in the coming days as they look to seal the transfer.

Lookman has been a key figure for Atalanta since joining in 2022, but his recent actions have heightened tensions between player and club, potentially setting the stage for a summer transfer standoff.
