The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Retail Limited has sacked a pump attendant and suspended a station manager after an alleged attempt to defraud a customer at its Ikorodu outlet in Lagos State.
The action followed a viral video on social media exposing the pump attendant’s misconduct. In a statement on Friday, NNPC Retail said an internal probe confirmed the wrongdoing.
“The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Retail Limited wishes to state clearly that such conduct is completely unacceptable and runs contrary to our values of integrity, transparency, and premium customer service,” the statement read.
In line with its sanction policy, the company terminated the pump attendant’s employment, suspended the station manager, and issued a formal warning to the dealer in charge of the outlet.
NNPC Retail commended public vigilance and urged customers to promptly report similar incidents through its official customer service numbers and email displayed at all NNPC stations.
