Shooting Stars Assistant Coach Akin Olowokere Dies After Collapsing During Training

Tragedy struck the Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) on Monday morning as assistant coach Akin Olowokere collapsed and died during a training session at the Dipo Dina Stadium, Ijebu Ode.

Olowokere, a former Sunshine Stars player and coach, slumped while the team was preparing for their Matchday 2 clash in the ValueJet Cup 2025. Medical personnel rushed to his aid on the pitch before he was taken to an undisclosed hospital, where he was confirmed dead.

The Oluyole Warriors had recently appointed Olowokere as part of a new technical crew following the exit of Gbenga Ogunbote and his backroom staff. His sudden death has thrown the club and Nigerian football community into mourning.
