- Levante led 2-0 at halftime through Romero and Morales
- Pedri and Torres pulled Barcelona level after the break
- Elgezabal’s stoppage-time own-goal sealed Barça’s win
- Flick’s men make it two victories from two to start the season
Barcelona fought back from two goals down to snatch a 3-2 victory against newly-promoted Levante on Sunday at the Ciutat de València.
First-half goals from Ivan Romero and Jose Luis Morales had given Levante a shock lead, but Pedri and Ferran Torres struck in quick succession early in the second half to restore parity.
The dramatic turnaround was completed in injury time when Unai Elgezabal diverted Lamine Yamal’s cross into his own net under pressure from Torres, handing Hansi Flick’s side their second win from as many games this season.
Romero opened the scoring on 15 minutes with a fine individual finish, before a VAR check penalised Alejandro Balde for handball, allowing veteran Morales to double Levante’s advantage from the spot in first-half stoppage time.
Barcelona responded after the interval with Pedri’s thunderous long-range strike and Torres’s close-range finish. Levante’s Roger Brugue and Barça’s Raphinha both went close before Elgezabal’s late mistake sealed the visitors’ comeback.
The victory means Barcelona maintain a perfect start to the new campaign, while Levante was left ruing missed chances and late misfortune.
