Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has applauded Nigerian chef Hilda Baci after Guinness World Records certified her latest feat — preparing the world’s largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice.

Guinness confirmed on Monday that Baci cooked an astonishing 8,780 kilograms of jollof rice during a record-breaking cookout at Eko Hotel, Lagos, last Friday.

Taking to his official X handle on Tuesday, Atiku celebrated the achievement, praising both Baci and her partners for inspiring global admiration.

“Congratulations to Hilda Baci and Gino for setting a new world record with the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice. It is yet another reminder that our people can break records, set standards, and inspire the world,” he wrote.

Atiku also commended Nigerians across the globe, stressing that their excellence in diverse fields continues to reinforce the nation’s reputation as a hub of talent and innovation.

This latest recognition adds to Baci’s growing list of achievements, including her Guinness World Record in 2023 for the longest cooking marathon. With this milestone, she further cements her place as one of Nigeria’s most celebrated culinary icons.
