African Action Congress (AAC) governorship candidate in the November 8 Anambra election, Chioma Ifemeludike, has criticized Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration, accusing it of neglecting the welfare and safety of residents.
Speaking on Politics Today, a Channels Television programme monitored on Thursday, Ifemeludike lamented that Anambra people’s lives “haven’t mattered” under Soludo’s leadership.
“For me, there is so much to be done in Anambra State, and we haven’t seen it under Professor Soludo’s leadership,” she said. “Especially in security, there were so many deaths that could have been averted. When human lives are concerned, the government’s primary duty should be to protect its people. With all the allocations and internally generated revenue, people’s lives should matter.”
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the Nigeria Police have, however, assured residents of their preparedness to ensure a peaceful and credible election on November 8.
