Tension erupted at the Miss Universe 2025 pre-pageant ceremony in Thailand after several contestants staged a dramatic walkout in protest of alleged verbal abuse directed at Miss Mexico, Fatima Bosch.
The incident reportedly began when Thai pageant official, Nawat Itsaragrisil, publicly called Bosch “dumb” for failing to post promotional content on her social media page. When Bosch objected, the official allegedly summoned security and threatened to disqualify any contestant who supported her.
In solidarity, Bosch exited the venue — followed by several other contestants who joined her protest against what they described as an act of humiliation and intimidation.
Speaking in a viral video after the incident, Bosch condemned the official’s behavior, describing it as “disrespectful” and “undermining” to women.
“As a country, you have all my respect. I truly love Thailand and its amazing people,” she said. “But what your director did is not respectful. He called me dumb and told me to shut up. The world needs to see this because we are empowered women — this platform should amplify our voices, not silence them.”
The controversy has cast a shadow over the ongoing Miss Universe 2025 activities, with calls for accountability and respect echoing across social media.
