Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on Monday condemned the killing of a vice-principal and the abduction of students at Government Girls Comprehensive Senior Secondary School, Maga, in Kebbi State, warning that the incident again underscores Nigeria’s worsening insecurity.

Atiku, in a post on X, also denounced the killing of an All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Umar Moriki, and the mass kidnappings in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State, where armed men reportedly seized entire families, including women and children.

He noted that similar violent attacks and displacements were unfolding in Plateau, Benue and other states. According to him, panic has already forced residents of Shanono Local Government Area in Kano State to flee their homes.

The former Vice President urged the Federal Government to overhaul the nation’s security framework, reinforce deployments in vulnerable communities and intensify intelligence-driven operations.

“Atiku said Nigerians deserve protection, dignity and lasting peace,” the statement added.
