Osimhen Set to Return for Galatasaray–Fenerbahçe Derby Despite Hamstring Scare

Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen is on course to return for the high-stakes Istanbul derby against Fenerbahçe on Monday, December 1, despite picking up a hamstring injury while on international duty.

Osimhen, who rejoined the club this week with discomfort in his hamstring, has already begun treatment, the club confirmed on Wednesday. The 26-year-old is expected to sit out Saturday’s league fixture against Gençlerbirliği as a precaution.

Turkish journalist Yakup Cinar assured fans that the forward should be ready for the derby showdown, stressing that medical checks show encouraging progress.

“He will play in the Fenerbahçe derby,” Cinar declared, adding that Osimhen’s MRI scan showed improvement and there is “no reason to worry.”

His anticipated return offers Galatasaray a major boost ahead of one of the most fiercely contested fixtures in Turkish football.
