The Ondo State Police Command has arrested three suspects linked to the violent attack on Fuji maestro Abass Akande Obesere and his crew in Okitipupa. The musician was ambushed on Friday shortly after performing at a burial ceremony in the town.

Chairman of Okitipupa Local Government, Soga Andrew Ogunsakin, condemned the attack in a statement shared on his Facebook page. He said he moved swiftly after receiving reports of the incident to restore order and ensure those responsible face justice.

Ogunsakin confirmed the arrest of three suspects and the recovery of items allegedly stolen from Obesere and his team. He added that security agencies were still pursuing other accomplices.

“I immediately swung into action to ensure accountability and restore calm. Three suspects connected to the disturbance have been arrested, while efforts are ongoing to track down others. Some stolen items have also been successfully recovered,” he said.

The chairman further disclosed that he has scheduled a meeting with Obesere’s management to convey his concern and provide updates on the investigation.
