Nigerian singer Busola Oke, popularly known for her hit song “Eleyele,” has sparked concern after breaking down in tears during a TikTok live session, where she openly lamented the hardships she is currently facing in her music career.
The visibly distressed artiste wept uncontrollably as she described feeling abandoned, financially strained, and emotionally drained. In the emotional broadcast, Oke declared that despite her talent, the Nigerian music industry has offered her little reward.
“Gift can’t do you nothing in Nigeria,” she said repeatedly, suggesting that raw talent alone no longer guarantees success.
The singer also apologised to her fans for what she described as an impending decision she never intended to make, although she did not disclose specifics.
“To my fans, I’m sorry. I never plan to do this, but I can’t take it anymore. I’m done,” she said, her voice trembling.
Oke further painted a stark picture of her reality, questioning how anyone could find peace or happiness amid financial hardship and loneliness.
“How can you eat when there’s no food? How can you drive when there’s no car? How can you be at peace when there’s no peace?” she asked. “When the going was good, there were so many people.”
Her remarks suggest deep frustration over what she perceives as abandonment by colleagues and close associates, especially during difficult times.
Busola Oke rose to fame with her widely celebrated track “Eleyele,” which earned massive airplay and cemented her name in Nigeria’s music scene. However, her recent emotional outburst has ignited conversations online about the pressures entertainers face, particularly the unstable nature of fame and financial security in the industry.
As reactions continue to trail her video, fans and fellow entertainers have begun expressing concern over her wellbeing while urging support for the singer during what appears to be one of the lowest points in her career.
