The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Bauchi State has launched a reconciliation drive to reunite aggrieved members following a court ruling that resolved its prolonged leadership crisis.

The internal dispute, which saw rival factions clash over control of the party structure, was recently settled by a High Court judgment affirming Hassan Haruna as the legitimate state chairman.

In response to the ruling, the party has set up a reconciliation committee aimed at restoring unity and strengthening cohesion ahead of future political engagements.

Deputy State Publicity Secretary, Arsanu Guyaba, described the court decision as a turning point, noting that it provides both legal clarity and a pathway to stability within the party.

He said the leadership has extended olive branches to dissenting members, urging them to return and work together to reposition the ADC in the state.

Guyaba added that the party is now focusing on rebuilding its internal structures and mobilising grassroots support in preparation for the 2027 general elections.

While acknowledging that the opposing faction may still pursue further legal action, he stressed that the party remains committed to dialogue and peaceful resolution of disputes.

He also commended the national leadership of the ADC for allowing the state chapter to resolve its crisis independently without interference.

With reconciliation efforts underway, the party says it is shifting focus to grassroots mobilisation and strategic positioning, expressing confidence in a stronger outing in the next electoral cycle.
