The APC Forum for Good Governance and Continuity has formally endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara for second terms in office, citing their leadership and policy impact.

The group announced its position at a press conference in Abuja, presenting what it described as an “evidence-based assessment” of both leaders’ performance.

Speaking at the event, the forum’s National Coordinator, Henry Awolabi, praised President Tinubu’s economic reforms, including the removal of fuel subsidy, exchange rate unification and tax restructuring. He said the measures have begun to stabilise Nigeria’s macroeconomic environment and restore investor confidence.

“When President Bola Ahmed Tinubu assumed office in 2023, Nigeria stood at the edge of a fiscal precipice. With clarity of purpose and uncommon political will, this administration embarked on a bold and historic reform agenda,” Awolabi said, describing the subsidy removal as the start of a new era of fiscal discipline.

According to the forum, Nigeria has recorded consistent GDP growth above four percent by the end of 2025, alongside improved exchange rate stability and a gradual decline in inflation. It also noted gains in foreign reserves, expanding trade surpluses and increased non-oil revenue.

The group acknowledged that the reforms have come with short-term challenges but stressed that national transformation requires difficult decisions and sustained commitment.

On Rivers State, the forum commended Governor Fubara for restoring stability amid political tensions and driving development across key sectors.

Awolabi highlighted ongoing infrastructure projects, healthcare improvements and agricultural initiatives aimed at boosting food security and diversifying the state’s economy beyond oil.

He added that the governor has prioritised the completion of abandoned projects and demonstrated restraint and leadership during periods of political crisis.

The forum, however, cautioned against policy inconsistency, warning that Nigeria is currently undergoing a critical structural transition.

It concluded by reaffirming its support for both leaders.

“We unequivocally endorse President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in office,” the group said, citing his courage in implementing reforms and vision for national growth.

“We also unequivocally endorse Governor Siminalayi Fubara for a second term as Governor of Rivers State, based on his resilience, developmental focus and leadership capacity.”
