Leicester City have suffered a second straight relegation, dropping into the third tier of English football just ten years after their famous Premier League title triumph. The Foxes confirmed their fall after a 2-2 draw at home to Hull City, a result that sealed their fate at the King Power Stadium.
Already relegated to the Championship last season, Leicester City have endured a difficult campaign marked by inconsistency and poor results. Despite playing at home, the team could not secure the win needed to keep survival hopes alive, with empty seats reflecting a disappointing season for fans.
At the top of the table, Coventry City, managed by Frank Lampard, celebrated promotion to the Premier League in style. They delivered a commanding 5-1 victory over Portsmouth, moving 10 points clear with two games left and confirming their status as champions.
Elsewhere, Millwall climbed to second place after a 3-1 win against Stoke City, opening a three-point gap over Ipswich Town, who still have two matches in hand. Ipswich will look to respond when they face Charlton Athletic.
It was also a positive night for Wrexham, who returned to the promotion playoff spots after a narrow 1-0 win at Oxford United. A decisive goal from Josh Windass secured the victory and lifted them above Hull on goal difference.
The Leicester City relegation marks a dramatic fall for a club that once defied the odds at the top level.
