Governor of Kebbi State, Nasir Idris, has submitted his governorship nomination form to the All Progressives Congress (APC), formally signalling his intention to seek a second term ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The nomination form was presented on Monday in Abuja, where the APC National Organising Secretary, Suleiman Argungu, received it on behalf of the party.

Argungu praised the governor’s performance in office, citing progress in infrastructure and social welfare programmes across Kebbi State. He expressed confidence in Idris’ leadership and electoral prospects, noting that the party remained satisfied with his administration’s achievements.

Responding through his deputy, Abubakar Umar-Tafida, Governor Idris thanked the party leadership for its continued support and pledged to consolidate on ongoing development efforts.

He also called on residents of Kebbi State to sustain their backing, assuring them of more projects and improved governance if re-elected.

The governor was accompanied by several political figures and government officials, including the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, alongside former governors, lawmakers, and key party stakeholders.

Also present were the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Yakubu Bala-Tafida; the Acting Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Samaila Muhammad Bagudo; members of the National Assembly, state commissioners, APC executives, and other party loyalists.
