Shakira has officially unveiled the song for the FIFA World Cup 2026, titled “Dai Dai”, featuring Nigerian music star Burna Boy.
The Colombian singer shared a teaser video on Instagram on Thursday from Brazil’s famous Maracana Stadium, giving fans a first look at the highly anticipated track. The official release of the song is scheduled for May 14.
In the video, Shakira appears with a group of dancers wearing the colours of several national teams expected to compete at the FIFA World Cup 2026, which will take place across Mexico, the United States, and Canada from June 11 to July 19.
The teaser also includes official match balls from the 2006, 2010, and 2014 World Cups, highlighting the singer’s long-standing connection with football’s biggest tournament.
The global pop star became one of the most recognised voices in World Cup history after performing the official 2010 tournament anthem, Waka Waka (This Time for Africa), during the competition in South Africa. She also delivered memorable performances of Hips Don’t Lie during the 2006 World Cup in Germany and La La La (Brazil 2014) at the 2014 tournament in Brazil.
The collaboration with Burna Boy has already generated excitement among football and music fans worldwide, with many expecting “Dai Dai” to become one of the standout songs of the tournament.
The FIFA World Cup 2026 will be the first edition jointly hosted by three countries and is expected to attract millions of viewers across the globe.
