Rivers United team manager, Festus Austine, has expressed confidence that the club will clinch the 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title despite the fierce battle at the top of the table.

The Port Harcourt-based side will face Katsina United in their final game of the season at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium in Port Harcourt next week.

Speaking ahead of the decisive encounter, Austine urged supporters to troop out in large numbers and back the team in their quest for league glory.

“It’s been a difficult week, but I believe we are going to get it right against Katsina United,” he said.

“Come to the Yakubu Gowon Stadium and cheer us to glory. I believe we are going to be crowned champions.”

Rivers United head into the final matchday trailing league leaders Rangers International F.C. by one point.

To secure the title, Rivers United must defeat Katsina United and hope Rangers fail to win against Ikorodu City F.C. in their own final fixture.

The title race is expected to go down to the wire as fans await a dramatic conclusion to the NPFL season.
