Chike sparks reactions with cryptic post amid alleged affair controversy

Nigerian singer Chike has triggered widespread reactions on social media after posting a cryptic message amid ongoing allegations linking him to an alleged affair involving media personality Frank Edoho’s estranged wife, Sandra Edoho.

Rumours have circulated online alleging that Chike was romantically involved with Sandra Edoho after Frank Edoho claimed he once caught his then-wife in an affair with a musician, though he did not name the individual involved.

Although no direct accusation has been made against Chike, the speculation intensified after controversial social media commentator VeryDarkMan released a video analysing the situation. In the video, he warned that the allegations—if believed by the public—could damage Chike’s career.

He argued that a significant portion of the singer’s income comes from live performances, particularly weddings, where he reportedly charges premium fees. He further suggested that some clients may begin to avoid booking him due to concerns linked to the controversy.

Amid the growing online debate, Chike posted a brief message on Sunday night on his social media account, writing: “Pity my soul!”

The post has fuelled further speculation, with fans divided over whether it was a response to the controversy or a general emotional expression. Some supporters believe the singer is being unfairly judged based on unverified claims.

Despite the online storm, Chike was recently seen at a cinema in Lagos, where he interacted with fans, signed autographs, and posed for photographs. A video from the event showed enthusiastic supporters singing his hit track Running To You while expressing excitement at meeting him.

The incident continues to trend across social media platforms, with conversations split between criticism, defence, and calls for restraint until verified facts emerge.
