Tottenham Hotspur will fight to preserve their Premier League status when they host Everton at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday.

Spurs head into the final game of the season under intense pressure after slipping to a 2-1 defeat against Chelsea in their previous league outing.

Everton also arrive on the back of a loss, having fallen 3-1 at home to Sunderland.

Tottenham’s defeat has dragged the north London side deeper into the relegation battle, leaving their Premier League survival hanging on the final day.

The club sits 17th in the table on 38 points, just two points above 18th-placed West Ham United after 37 matches.

A victory over Everton would guarantee Spurs’ safety, while a draw could also be enough because of their superior goal difference over West Ham.

Everton, meanwhile, still have an outside chance of securing a top-half finish for the first time in five years if results elsewhere go in their favour.

Manager David Moyes has already seen his side’s hopes of European qualification ended following defeat to Sunderland, leaving the Merseyside club focused on ending the campaign strongly.

The Toffees currently occupy 12th place with 49 points.

With little left to play for beyond league position, Everton could still play a decisive role in the relegation battle by denying Spurs the points they desperately need.West Ham would need to beat Leeds United heavily to survive if Tottenham avoid defeat.
