The New York Knicks used a brilliant third-quarter performance to defeat the Cleveland Cavaliers 109-93 on Thursday. This vital victory gives them a commanding two-game cushion in the NBA Eastern Conference finals. The team put on a spectacular show for their home fans before the playoff series moves to Cleveland for the next two matches.

Star player Jalen Brunson struggled to find his usual rhythm early on. He scored only two points in the opening half after his amazing game-one comeback heroics. However, his teammate Josh Hart stepped up beautifully to lead the charge. Hart scored a magnificent career playoff high of 26 points and sank five impressive long-range shots. Brunson also recovered well to finish the night with 19 points and a career playoff high of 14 assists.
The home side showed incredible teamwork throughout the evening. Mikal Bridges scored 19 points, while Karl-Anthony Towns added 18 points and grabbed 13 rebounds. This collective effort helped them maintain control of the NBA Eastern Conference matchup. For the visitors, Donovan Mitchell scored 26 points and James Harden added 18. The Cavaliers fought back bravely to cut an 18-point deficit down to just seven in the final period. Despite this pressure, New York found another gear to win comfortably.
The squads are fighting hard for a spot in the ultimate championship round. The ultimate winner of this intense NBA Eastern Conference battle will progress to face either the San Antonio Spurs or the Oklahoma City Thunder. Over in the opposite bracket, those two Western teams remain locked in a tense tie.
