Primate Elijah Ayodele criticises Tinubu over insecurity crisis in Nigeria

|By Chinwendu Nwani – Primate Elijah Ayodele criticises Tinubu over insecurity crisis in Nigeria, accusing the federal government of lacking the courage to confront those behind violent attacks across the country. The cleric said authorities and security agencies already know the people responsible for insecurity but have failed to act decisively against them.

In a statement issued by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, Ayodele claimed that insecurity has continued to spread because political leaders once empowered armed groups for selfish interests. However, he said the same groups later became difficult to control.

According to the cleric, the worsening violence now threatens national stability. He argued that the government must take urgent and practical steps if it truly wants to end the crisis.

“The Nigerian government isn’t taking the issue of security seriously because it’s looking like a curse to the Nigerian government,” Ayodele said.

He further alleged that both the government and service chiefs understand the root causes of insecurity. However, he claimed they are afraid to expose or confront those involved.

Primate Elijah Ayodele criticises Tinubu again by insisting that the security crisis has become deeply rooted because some influential figures allegedly benefit from the situation. He also questioned why authorities have not acted against traditional rulers and other individuals allegedly linked to insecurity in some regions.

Furthermore, the cleric warned that insecurity has gradually turned into a business for certain groups in Nigeria. He argued that this development makes the crisis more difficult to solve.

Ayodele said the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu must adopt tougher measures to restore public confidence. He stressed that Nigerians expect stronger action against criminal groups responsible for kidnappings, killings and attacks across the country.

Meanwhile, insecurity remains one of the biggest challenges facing Nigeria. Several communities across different states have continued to report attacks by armed groups despite repeated assurances from security agencies.

Primate Elijah Ayodele criticises Tinubu over insecurity crisis in Nigeria at a time when many Nigerians are demanding urgent reforms in the nation’s security structure. The cleric warned that the crisis could persist if leaders fail to make bold decisions.
