|By Adejumo Adekunle – President Bola Tinubu has praised Nyesom Wike for Abuja transformation, declaring that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has delivered on his mandate to modernise Nigeria’s capital city.
Speaking through Vice President Kashim Shettima during the inauguration of the Federal High Court Judges’ Quarters in Katampe, Abuja, Tinubu said Wike had justified the confidence placed in him.
The president said he appointed Wike to transform Abuja into a world-class city because of his proven ability to deliver results. He noted that the minister had overseen major road projects and ensured the timely completion of critical infrastructure, including the newly commissioned housing units for Federal High Court judges.
Furthermore, Tinubu praised the cooperation between the executive and judicial arms of government. He described the relationship as a strong example of intergovernmental harmony that benefits Nigerians.
The president also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening the judiciary. According to him, providing secure and comfortable accommodation for judges is essential to promoting judicial independence and improving the administration of justice.
Tinubu said the judges’ quarters reflect the goals of the Renewed Hope Agenda, which seeks to build trust in public institutions and uphold the rule of law. He stressed that judicial officers perform better when they work in an environment that guarantees security, comfort and dignity.
Meanwhile, he urged members of the judiciary to continue delivering fair, swift and impartial justice. He added that ongoing reforms across the country are beginning to produce visible results.
Tinubu praises Wike for Abuja transformation as the administration continues to invest in infrastructure and institutional development across the Federal Capital Territory and Nigeria as a whole.
