|By Chinwendu Nwani – Davido and Rarara clash over Nigeria insecurity comments has become one of the most talked-about topics on Nigerian social media after a heated exchange between the two musicians.
The dispute began when Dauda Kahutu Rarara posted a video criticising Davido over remarks he made about insecurity in Nigeria. The comments followed Davido’s appearance at a FIFA World Cup-related event, where he wore a shirt displaying the Nigerian flag and the names of schoolchildren reportedly abducted in Oyo State.
Last month, armed attackers claimed to be jihadists and kidnapped several pupils and teachers from a school in Oyo State. The incident triggered public outrage and renewed criticism of the government’s handling of security challenges.
Reacting on X, Davido urged Nigerians not to remain silent about insecurity. He argued that citizens should speak openly about national issues and avoid placing political interests above the country’s welfare.
A few hours later, Davido posted a message in Hausa that appeared to target Rarara directly. The singer questioned Rarara’s knowledge and dismissed his criticism.
However, Rarara responded in the comments section, warning Davido to be careful. His reply quickly attracted attention and fuelled further debate among supporters of both artists.
As a result, Davido and Rarara clash over Nigeria insecurity comments continued trending across social media platforms. Many users argued over whether celebrities should publicly criticise government policies, while others defended their right to speak on national issues.
Meanwhile, the exchange has highlighted growing concerns about insecurity and the role of influential public figures in shaping national conversations.
The debate surrounding Davido and Rarara clash over Nigeria insecurity comments shows no sign of slowing down.
