Usman Mohammed joins Maccabi Bnei Reineh after signing a two-year contract with the Israeli club as a free agent. The Super Eagles midfielder returns to familiar surroundings following the expiry of his contract with Ironi Tiberias.
The 32-year-old reunites with Maccabi Bnei Reineh, where he previously played between 2023 and 2025. During that spell, Mohammed made 63 league appearances and scored three goals before leaving at the end of his contract.
His return strengthens the club’s midfield ahead of the new campaign. Club officials secured the experienced Nigerian on a free transfer, bringing back a player already familiar with the team’s style and expectations.
Mohammed first rose to prominence with Taraba United before earning international recognition. He was part of Nigeria’s U-23 team that claimed a bronze medal at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
The midfielder also featured in the Super Eagles squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, adding valuable international experience to his career.
Usman Mohammed joins Maccabi Bnei Reineh as both player and club aim to build on their previous successful partnership. The move offers the Nigerian another opportunity to make an impact in Israeli football.
