Femi Adesina says Nigerian youths are frustrated because many cannot secure decent jobs or enjoy a better quality of life. The former presidential spokesman argued that poor leadership has prevented Nigeria from turning its vast human and natural resources into national prosperity.
Speaking at the maiden public lecture organised by the Foursquare Gospel Church, Aba Ibeji, at Mauve 21 in Oluyole Local Government Area of Oyo State, Adesina said Nigeria possesses everything required for development but continues to struggle because of a leadership crisis.
He listed the country’s large youth population, abundant natural resources, fertile agricultural land and strategic geographical location as major strengths. However, he stressed that these advantages have not translated into economic growth or improved living standards for many citizens.
Furthermore, Femi Adesina says Nigerian youths are frustrated because unemployment and economic hardship continue to affect their future. According to him, many young Nigerians cannot access meaningful employment despite the country’s enormous potential.
Adesina also urged political leaders to match their promises with practical action. He said leaders must demonstrate accountability and implement policies that improve the lives of citizens instead of making empty commitments.
Meanwhile, he maintained that Nigeria can still realise its full potential if leaders focus on responsible governance, job creation and effective management of the nation’s resources. He insisted that genuine leadership remains the key to unlocking sustainable development and restoring hope among young Nigerians.
