RSU Vice-Chancellor oversees digital SUG election as Rivers State University successfully conducted its 2026 Students’ Union Government (SUG) poll. The exercise ended with Comrade Zorbe Caleb Gabari emerging President-Elect after a peaceful and transparent digital voting process.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Isaac Zeb-Obipi remained digitally present throughout the election. He monitored the voting process from start to finish to ensure it remained free, fair and credible. His active supervision strengthened confidence in the outcome and reinforced the university’s commitment to transparent student elections.
Meanwhile, the digital voting exercise proceeded without disruption. Students cast their votes through the approved electronic platform, while university authorities maintained oversight to prevent interference. As a result, the process concluded smoothly and peacefully.
At the end of the election, Comrade Zorbe Caleb Gabari secured victory to become the President-Elect of the Rivers State University Students’ Union Government. Gabari, who hails from Wiiyakara Community in Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State, won after what observers described as an orderly and credible contest.
