Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria Headquarters Gutted by Fire in Abuja

Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria headquarters in Abuja has been gutted by fire, with flames reportedly starting from the fourth floor of the building.

The blaze quickly spread through the building, sending smoke into the surrounding area and triggering an emergency response.

Anthony Ameh, a Zenith Bank personnel based in the building, described the fire as intense.

He said operatives of the Federal Fire Service arrived at the scene with about four trucks but struggled to contain the flames.

“The fire is so intense,” Ameh said.

According to him, the firefighters have not yet managed to put out the blaze.

Authorities have not yet confirmed the cause of the fire or reported any casualties.
