The Catholic Diocese of Otukpo has confirmed the safe return of seminarian Kelvin Ochai, who was abducted by gunmen in Asa III, Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State.
The Catholic Diocese of Otukpo said Ochai escaped from his abductors and reached Aliade in Gwer East Local Government Area, where he reunited with his family unharmed.
The diocese announced his return in a statement issued on Saturday by its Chancellor, Very Rev. Fr Joseph Itodo.
Itodo credited the seminarian’s safe return to divine intervention and prayers from Christians and well-wishers.
Meanwhile, Bishop Michael Ekwoyi Apochi thanked priests, religious leaders, lay faithful and other supporters for their prayers and concern during Ochai’s captivity.
The development brings relief to the diocese and Ochai’s family after the abduction.
