Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) troops have arrested four suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP collaborators during separate intelligence-led operations in Yobe and Borno states. The latest Operation Hadin Kai successes also include the interception of 20 suspected family members of Jama’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati wal-Jihad (JAS) terrorists who reportedly fled their enclave following sustained military offensives.
According to a statement issued by Captain Mohammed Goni, Acting Media Information Officer of the Headquarters Joint Task Force North East, troops of 159 Battalion carried out a cordon-and-search operation in Geidam Town, Yobe State, on 3 August 2026 after receiving credible intelligence. The operation led to the arrest of two suspected collaborators who allegedly supplied hard drugs and logistics to Boko Haram fighters.
Security personnel recovered suspected Indian hemp, several mobile phones, power banks, knives, torchlights, lighters, cigarette rolls, Pregabalin capsules, Piscof syrup, identity documents, ATM cards, and ₦14,530 from the suspects.
In another Operation Hadin Kai mission, troops from Sector 3 Garrison, working with the 242 Reconnaissance Battalion, arrested two suspected ISWAP logistics suppliers in Monguno Town, Borno State. During questioning, the suspects reportedly admitted transporting food and other supplies to ISWAP members operating in Kwatan Dowoshi Village in Kukawa Local Government Area. Troops recovered cartons of biscuits, milk, sugar, soap, headlamps, bags of sachet garri, lighters, mobile phones, an assault knife, a charm belt, prayer beads, herbal medicine, ₦6,600, and other items.
Meanwhile, troops of 222 Battalion (Main) intercepted 20 suspected JAS family members along the Gezuwa axis in Konduga Local Government Area. The group included nine women, two men, eight female minors, and one male minor, who said they fled Gezuwa following intense military operations. Authorities have handed them over to the 21 Military Intelligence Regiment for further profiling.
The military said the arrested suspects and recovered items remain under investigation, adding that Operation Hadin Kai will continue disrupting terrorist logistics and dismantling support networks. It also urged the public to provide credible intelligence to strengthen ongoing counter-terrorism efforts across the North East.
